Kuwait City, Kuwait – October 4, 2025 – The Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development announces today its efforts to strengthen collaboration with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in areas where AI technologies can be harnessed for economic and inclusive growth across its member countries.

The announcement followed an official visit to Kuwait by an IMF delegation led by Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, where She held a bilateral discussion and fireside chat with the Arab Fund’s leadership team, led by Director General Fawzi Yousef Alhunaif. "The visit from the IMF Director is incredibly timely and significant. AI is reshaping the global future and at the Arab Fund seek to leverage the revolutionary power of AI to boost economic growth, charting a roadmap for an AI-powered regional economy that accelerates integration and sustainable development,” says H.E. Fawzi Yousef Alhunaif, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Arab Fund.

Both leaders exchanged views on how artificial intelligence and other technological innovations can serve as catalysts for growth and development. This unique effort underscores Arab Fund’s essential role as a leading regional institution that fosters innovation to address critical developmental challenges.
