Overview of the Operations of the Arab Fund for the first half of the Year 2020

During the first half of 2020, the Arab Fund signed 12 loan agreements, amounting to KD 435 Million. Eight of these agreements, amounting to KD 390 Million, were provided to finance infrastructure projects in Jordan, Oman, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Mauritania and Djibouti, while the other four loans, amounting to KD 135 Million, were extended to Mauritania, Oman, Tunisia and Morocco to help these countries’ efforts in mitigating the effects of the Corona pandemic.
Additionally, during the same period, the Arab Fund extended 20 regional and national grants, amounting to KD 11.1 Million. Seven of these grants, each in the amount of KD 1 Million, were extended to Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, Jordan Egypt and Libya to help these countries combat the Corona pandemic through the acquisition of necessary medical supplies and equipment. Two more grants, amounting to KD 0.5 Million and KD 0.15 Million, respectively, were provided to Djibouti and the Union of the Comoros for the same purpose.
