Joint Annual Meetings of Arab Financial Institutions 2026

The Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development participated in the Joint Annual Meetings of Arab Financial Institutions, held virtually via videoconferencing on Monday, May 4, 2026.

The meetings were attended by ministers, governors, deputy governors, and representatives of Arab financial institutions. During the opening session, H.E. Mr. Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs of the United Arab Emirates delivered the opening remark where he emphasized the importance of strengthening joint financial and institutional cooperation.

His Excellency Dr. Abdul Hakim Al-Shbli, Minister of Finance of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, delivered the keynote address for the joint session on behalf of all institutions.

The session for the 55th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Arab Fund was chaired by the Governor for the State of Palestine, H.E. Dr. Nasser Qatami, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Arab and Islamic Funds, who delivered the opening remarks. This was followed by a speech from Mr. Fawzi Yousef Alhunaif, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development.

During the meeting, the Board of Directors' report on the Fund's operations and Annual Report for the year ending December 31, 2025, were approved. Additionally, an auditor was appointed for the 2027 financial year, and a Chairman and Vice Chairman were elected for the 55th annual session of the Board of Governors of the Arab Fund.

Regarding the 16th Annual Meeting of the Supervisory Board of Badir Fund for Developing Small and Medium Enterprise, the opening speech was delivered by H.E. Dr. Afrah Abdulaziz al-Zouba, Vice Chairperson of the Supervisory Board and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation of the Republic of Yemen. This was followed by a speech from Mr. Fawzi Yousef Alhunaif, Director General and Chairman of the Arab Fund/Chairman of the Badir Fund.

During the meeting, Badir Fund’s Annual Report for the year 2025 was approved along with the financial statements for the same year. Additionally, an external auditor was appointed for the 2027 financial year. Finally, the appointment of the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board for the upcoming session was approved.
