Hand-carved Gypsum Ceiling Domes Seem to Float in Space

prgypnew.jpg (25612 bytes)

Gypsum ceiling domes decorate the ceiling of the Pre-function Hall.  Each hand-carved cupola section is separated by an inch of space all around.  This space isolates the domes and creates a sense that the ceiling panels are floating.  Actually, these spaces serve as the supply and return for the air conditioning, replacing the usual metal grills.  Click here for a view of a ceiling dome being crafted.
