Objectives:

The project aims at meeting the housing needs of low-income people and improving their social conditions, as part of the plan executed by the Ministry of Housing. It also aims at encouraging the private sector to contribute in the social housing projects.

Description:

The project, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year 2003, consists of the following components:

  1. External Connections: This includes all works related to connecting the site with the city of Agadir's main networks of services (water line, sewer line, road, electricity, telephone and others).

  2. Internal Preparations: This includes preparing the sites and providing them with the necessary services such as water, roads, electricity and others.

  3. Technical Services: This includes the preparation of technical studies and detailed design and services for the supervision and control of all project activities, including the distribution of land sections.

Financing:

The Arab Fund loan constitutes about 75% of the total project cost. The Moroccan government will finance the remaining costs.
